Disappointment feels like a kick in the butt!

I took the day off today to go to Little Rock to speak to the good people at Barnes and Noble. I woke up (extremely happy to sleep in for once) and made my way south. I walk in and of course get swept off my feet by the smell of books and coffee. I love that smell. I walk right up to the manager, introduce myself, tell her why I'm there...and BAM! Disappointment. I didn't think it was possible to feel disappointment in a bookstore. She gives me a number to call hoping to help me out...it didn't. I found out that my is called "print on demand." In Mandy terms that means big distributors will not carry it. That really sucks! I'm just sayin'! I go to Mardel and get the same news.
In all this crazy frustration, I hear God tell me to not lose heart. What a comforting God we have! I felt Him speak in my heart and it brought tears to my eyes. I shouldn't give up because one thing doesn't work out. There are many people that tend to make me feel like it's over. They make me feel like my dream is over and I should give up, but I refuse to let anyone tell me that I'm not going to make it. My dreams may be big, but I have faith. My book is completed and published for a reason. I will not lose heart, my Lord!

Another snow day here in Arkansas

I can't believe that it has snowed this much here in Arkansas. We usually get...nothing! I'm such a big fan of snow. It cannot offend me in any way. I want to put on my boots right now and take a walk in the snow. I love to hear the crunch of it beneath my feet. I shared on facebook earlier that it reminds me of our Savior. His blood covers my sins just like the snow covers the ground. The amazing mercy of our Christ! I'm in awe!

I'm very excited to start working on my marketing soon. Hopefully, when the snow is gone, I can get some work done. I found out that my book can be ordered from any Barnes and Noble store. This is good news! I just need to persuade some managers into ordering my book. I know I can!!! They will want it, won't they, friends??? I just want you all to pray (I mean really pray) that my book will be wanted by all! Thank you so much!!! I love you all!!!

Hello World!

I'm pretty new to this blogging thing. I'm not even sure if anyone reads it, but I'm writing anyway. I'm going to say this out loud because I need to get it out....this marketing stuff sucks! It's really hard to market your book with no money. Sometimes I feel like it's never going to get out there, but I have to remember that everyone must start somewhere. My starting place just feels so small. I hope that everyone will purchase Party Central soon so that my numbers will go up. I pray that I can find a great agent and hopefully a better publisher next go around...I guess that means I need to get off my tail and write on the next book. It's really hard to start writing a second novel when the first one is just now getting out there...I'm not sure how far, but I pray everyone will buy it!!! Hello! Where are you, buyers???? Why have you not bought your copy??? www.barnesandnoble.com has plenty of copies...buy it now!!!! I'm sorry that I'm screaming, but I'm feeling a little crazy at the moment. I really need to take a day off work and just focus on my sales. Anyone know any buyers/publishers/distributors....anybody that wants to sell Party Central??? As I speak right now, Houdini (my weenie dog) is whining wanting to go outside, but it reminds me to stop whining and just let God take control. You know in that movie, Julie and Julia, where Julie writes a blog and gets tons of book deals at the end? Maybe I'll get a great book deal one day from a great publisher that wants to pay me an advance and do the marketing for me...I believe in dreaming big and letting God guide the way. Big dream..check..letting God guide the way...I'm trying (honesty is all I can give). Pray for me, my friends. I need you. Goodnight, world.
